After years of studio experience as a musician, William decided he wanted to get more involved in the production side of the recording process.

Opportunity knocked soon enough in the form of This Ascension, who asked William to take the wheel for the production of their 1994 disc Walk Softly, A Dream Lies Here.During the mixing of this album, disagreements with the project's first engineer brought about the search for a replacement -- inadvertently leading to the stellar teaming of William Faith and engineer Chad Blinman for the mixing of the album.This pairing marked the beginning of a very productive relationship, as Faith and Blinman went on to produce a number of highly-regarded recordings at Chad's formidable project studio The Eye Socket. After a number of album projects, William decided he wanted to expand his skills to include engineering; 1997 saw William enroll in the Los Angeles Recording Workshop, where the hand-on experience yielded valuable results. Graduating in 1998, William was immediately hired at The Complex in West Los Angeles, where he worked with Grammy-winning engineers and artists. 1999 saw William leaving The Complex in the interest of opening his own studio. January 2000 saw the opening of Wisperthal.
